About Our Circle

At a time when the news of the day leaves us feeling overwhelmed about the global economic crisis, The Clarence Foundation has designed a special Summer Session Giving Circle to support small, international organizations that are working to continue their impact despite these difficult times.

Although there has been much media coverage about bank failures and the crisis on Wall Street, much less attention has been paid to the impact of the global economic crisis on those living in the world’s most resource-deprived countries. For this giving circle, we will focus on areas that have been particularly hard hit, including Kenya, Vietnam, Nicaragua, and more. And because times are tough everywhere, we are creating a circle with a lower investment requirement that will focus on smaller-scale microfinance and economic development projects.
